Talking around the table with Donna Wieland

8 October 2015

Taking part in the second high level round table session of the Congress, Ms Donna Wieland, from the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, will be presenting at today’s high level roundtable - City-Industry Collaboration for Low Carbon Mobility.

Ms Wieland will discuss the many ways in which Australia collaborates with industry to deliver innovative intelligent transport systems that improve transport safety, productivity and sustainability. Ms Wieland’s presentation will showcase Australian initiatives that highlight the important role of ITS in Melbourne, the world’s most liveable city where the 2016 ITS World Congress will be held.

With the theme of Sustainable Urban Mobility, this high level round table brings together city and industry representatives from across the globe to discuss how ITS, combined with private-public collaborations can help cities achieve sustainability goals.

In the lead up to the 23rd ITS World Congress in Melbourne, Australia on 10-14 October 2016, these themes will have a continued presence, including how technology is supporting environmental sustainability and enhancing our cities and communities.
