BARRY EINSIG

Barry Einsig is the Global Transportation Executive for Cisco’s Internet of Things Vertical Solutions Group. With a broad experience in the Transportation market, Barry has been in the industry for over 15 years serving in a variety of roles providing wired and wireless IP communication networks, video, security and life safety systems for Transportation and Public Safety networks. He is an advisor for Singapore Ministry of Transport for driverless vehicle systems and Board Advisor to Prospect Silicon Valley. Some of the authorities Barry has worked with include: Network Rail, Deutsche Bahn, DFW, Port of Hamburg, SFMTA, Transport For London, BNSF, WMATA, AMTRAK, DART, PA Turnpike, and many others.


Within the Vertical Solutions Group, Barry is the Business lead responsible for driving the growth strategy, business planning, thought leadership and solutions designs and validation for all modes of transportation.

Barry has been an active member of the American Public Transportation Association, Association of American Railroads Wireless Communications Committee, and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. Barry is also active in the Transportation Sector Coordinating Council, APTA Security Standards development, and the Committee on Public Safety. He serves as Chair for the Joint Council on Transit Wireless Communications. He is Past Chair for the ITSA Transportation Management Forum, and the Business Leadership Council, Public Safety Council, and Public Transit Council. Finally, Barry is a Board member for The Infrastructure Security Partnership. Barry earned a BA in Environmental Biology from Juniata College and has written for many industry publications including:

  • Mass Transit Magazine
  • Traffic Technology International

Barry has presented at International Conferences such as IWCE, APCO, ITSA, APTA, PTC World Congress and ITS World Congress, on topics including security, wireless communications, IP networks and Transportation Systems.
