NICK BROWN

Nick has worked in transport policy and operational roles since 1998. Originally from the UK, he worked in local transport planning and also the operational provision of public transport. This included the introduction of integrated smart card and real time information systems.

Nick moved to New Zealand in 2006 and is now General Manager for Aviation and Maritime at the Ministry of Transport – a portfolio that also covers technology in transport. As such, he is responsible for the Ministry’s work providing leadership in the deployment of ITS technologies in New Zealand. His focus is not just on land transport, but also on how ITS technologies can transform the aviation and maritime sectors.
