Young-Jun Moon

Dr Young-Jun Moon is a director of Division for Innovative Transportation Technology Convergence in the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI). He participated in ITS World Congress and the International Standard Organizations in ITS area as a leader of ITS R&D in Korea from 1999 for developing a variety of ITS projects. Since then, he has been involved in ISO/TC204 as not only an expert in WG14 vehicle/roadway warning and control system but also a Convenor of WG for nomadic & portable devices. He has been a member of the International Program Committee of ITS World Congress since 2005 and also a chair of IPC for the 17th ITS World Congress in Busan, 2010. Dr Moon is chair of the Transportation Division for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Organizing Committee.


Jason Chang

Professor of Transport Systems, National Taiwan University and Director of Public Transport Research Centre

Dr Jason Chang is a professor in National Taiwan University. He has served as advisor to Mayor of Taipei City Government since 1994. In the past 20 years, Professor Chang has been invited by many international NGOs and governments to provide advisory on transport policies. His research focuses on public transport, transport economics, advanced public transit and e-payment systems. Professor Chang is one of the pioneers promoting green transport and BRT in Asian cities including China, Indonesia and India. His famous philosophy on green transport and sustainable mobility is the integration of BBMW, namely Bike, Bus, Metro and Walk.

Eric Sampson

Ambassador of ITS United Kingdom

Eric worked in the UK public sector until retirement in 2006, holding posts in Marine, Highways, Rail and Safety and The Coastguard Agency. He was appointed CBE in 2007. He is a Visiting Professor at both Newcastle University and City University London, a past Chairman of ITS-UK and currently the Society’s Ambassador, and a founder member of ERTICO. In 2012 he was appointed to the European Commission’s High Level Advisory Group on ITS.


Jennie Martin

Jennie joined ITS United Kingdom, the Intelligent Transport Society for the UK, in 1998. Prior to that, she worked in the City Engineer’s Department at the Corporation of London, the local authority for the “Square Mile” financial district of London. Jennie began her working life with the then British Rail in 1986. Jennie chairs the Network of National ITS Associations, an organisation of 25 European ITS associations. Jennie is originally from Sweden, but is now a happily naturalised Londoner.

Richard is internationally recognised as a leading expert in ITS. He is a member of the ITS World Congress Board of Directors and Programme Committee. He is a member of the ERTICO Strategy Committee, represents the UK in the World Road Association and is committed to international cooperation on ITS.

After working for 15 years in the telecom area, my career in ITS started around 1995 with the developments in road tolling, electronic scheduling systems for public transit, tracking and tracing systems for parcel service and the development of RIS (River Information System) for inland waterways. By 2005 I started with the development of AustriaTech appointed as Managing Director in 2006 and finished with the organisation of the ITS World Congress 2012 in Vienna. Currently I am Managing Director of A3PS, Austria Agency for Alternative Propulsion System. It will be an honour for me to contribute to the success of the ITS World Congress 2016 in Melbourne as Ambassador.


Christer Karlsson

Christer has worked in the field of ITS since 1984 and has been CEO for ITS Sweden since 1999. Christer is currently representing Sweden internationally in different projects and groups including Head of Delegation from Sweden in CEN TC 278 Road Transport and Traffic Telematics; Initiator for the platform for national ITS-organisations in Europe; he represented Sweden in EC’s group for the Charging directive, Telepeage; he is a member of the Board of Directors for the ITS World Congresses, a member of the International Programme Committee for the ITS World Congresses and Project Manager for the Euro-regional project EasyWay/Viking.


Olga Landolfi

Secretary General, TTS Italia

Olga Landolfi is the Secretary General of TTS Italia. She has worked as researcher at the Italian Transportation Research Programme of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) in the ITS sector, and at the Mobility Agency for the City of Rome as expert in ITS in the Rome's Traffic Control Centre. Over the last few years, she coordinated the redaction of the Italian ITS Action Plan, a survey on Italian ITS Market to evaluate the role of ITS sector in the national economy, and all the projects and initiatives carried out by TTS Italia. Olga has also been an expert evaluator for the European Commission in the Framework Programmes.


Norbert Handke

Managing Director, ITS Network Germany and Vice Chair, Network of National ITS Organisations (hosted by ERTICO)

Norbert Handke is a civil engineer with his roots in Hamlin, Germany. After some years in traffic safety research, he planned the transport system and traffic management for EXPO 2000 and worked on the concept and realisation of the first intermodal management centre in Germany. After realizing and operating on the transport management system for the Soccer World Cup 2006 in Germany, he worked in two Niedersachsen State initiative as a network on Mobility and Telematics. As an adviser to national and international institutions for actual and future developments in ITS, he acts mainly in cooperation with ERTICO / ITS Europe in Brussels, and above that works for ITS Niedersachsen, ITS Deutschland (former “Network Germany”) and as the project champion for the Network of National ITS Organisations.


Hans-Joachim Schade

Hans-Joachim has more than 15 years’ experience in the ICT, automotive and transport telematics industries. He is member of standardization groups on national, European and world wide level concerning the standardization of Co-operative ITS Systems (C-ITS), and acts as the responsible C-ITS convenor in ISO/TC204 and CEN/TC278. He took over the CEN responsibility for the execution of the Standardization Mandate to support the interoperability of C-ITS in the European Community issued by the European Commission. Hans-Joachim is President of ITS Bavaria and member of the board of ITS Germany.

Angelos Amditis

Dr Angelos Amditis is the Research Director at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), President of ITS Hellas and is a member of the Supervisory Board of ITS Europe. He has been working in the transportation industry for the last 20 years and had been very active in topics of research as automation, cooperative systems, HMI, electromobility, sensors, information fusion and perception, eCall, active safety systems, modeling and simulation. He has led numerous research projects and is the author of many articles and papers.

Vladimir Kryuchkov has been the Chief Executive Officer of ITS Russia since 2010. Vladimir graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University as economist and from Institute of Strategic Management in Atlanta (USA). He was elected Member of Russian Parliament in 1990-1993. He worked professionally in Supreme Soviet of Russian Federation, occupied positions in Russian Financial Corporation, several commercial banks, companies Royal Dutch Shell, Ford Motor Company and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company. He established Professional Association In Vehicle Risk Prevention (PAIRP).


Neil Frost

Neil Frost provides strategic advisory and enterprise architecture services specializing in Transport and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). He currently advises on Big Data and Internet of Things in Public Transport. Frost is the Chair for SABS TC 204 Intelligent Transport Systems and Head of Delegation for South Africa to ISO TC 204, a role he has occupied for the 10 years. Frost is a member of the Big Data Study Group and Open Payments review team and an active participant and member of ISO TC 204 WG8 and WG7 activities and a recognized international expert in ITS Systems and Enterprise Architecture. Frost’s experience includes Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for all modes of transport with a heavy focus on public transport, freight logistics, transport entity enterprise architecture and enabling technologies.

He is internationally recognized as an expert in automotive electronics, wireless communications and is a leader in the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) industry, having helped pioneer multinational activities to advance connected vehicle technologies, location based service delivery and transportation safety. Randell “Randy” Iwasaki

Randell “Randy” Iwasaki has served as the Executive Director of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) since 2010. CCTA administers a one-half percent sales tax program and serves as Contra Costa’s Congestion Management Agency, making recommendations on how state and federal transportation funds will be used in the country. Prior to joining CCTA, Randy was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2009 as Director of the California Department of Transportation. Randy serves on a number of national transportation panels and advisory boards and is Chair of the National Freight Advisory Committee (NFAC). The committee will provide input to US DOT to help craft the first US Strategic Freight Plan.
