2016 Award for Best Action for Supporting Diversity in the ITS Workforce

 

The second annual Award for Best Action for supporting Diversity in the ITS Workforce was this year awarded to Transurban - recognising their commitment to diversification from policy development through to implementation in the workplace.

Transurban's General Manager Group Technology and Diversity Advocate on the Executive Committee, Lisa Tobin, says: "we are delighted to accept today's Diversity award. Not only does it support our desire to remain an employer of choice, but goes further to recognising the company's continuous efforts to cultivate a workforce based on capability and merit, not on gender, denomination or cultural background." ... Read the full media release

 

An Award was made in connection with the ITS World Congress in Melbourne 2016, for the best action taken to promote the creation of an ITS workforce which reflects the clients and users of the ITS being supplied and managed. Depending on the location and organisation, this involved addressing ratios of genders, ethnicities, ages, religious orientations, sexual orientations, etc.

The award was open to any organisation or individual anywhere in the world.

The submissions was judged by an eminent panel of ITS professionals representing the three regions of the ITS world:

  • Americas – Martha Morecock Eddy, US and Jeffrey Smart, Canada
  • Asia Pacific – Grace Ong, Singapore and Kim Thomas, Australia
  • Europe & Africa – Jonna Pollanen, Finland and Debo Shopade, UK & Nigeria
